Where do you deliver for free?
We offer free local delivery to addresses in many NYC area zip codes, details on which can be found HERE. If your shipping address is within an applicable zip code, you will see delivery options on the "Shipping Methods" page of our checkout process. Note, there are order minimums for free delivery, however, for orders below the minimum we still offer next-day delivery for a fee.
What if I live outside the delivery zone?
We can still get wine to you! If your zip code is outside of our current delivery zone, you will have the option to select various Fedex shipping options during checkout. We are constantly expanding our delivery zones, so keep an eye out for updates to your zip!
Is my order ready for delivery / pick up?
Orders placed by 2pm will be delivered either same-day or next-day
Pick Up: For orders placed before 2pm, pickups are ready same-day after 4pm.* Our staff will contact you via text message or email using the contact information provided on your order, to confirm that your order is complete and ready for pick up at the shop.
Delivery: For orders placed before 2pm, deliveries are made same-day or next-day depending on your local zip code.* (Details here) Our delivery driver will contact you via text message or email using the contact information provided on your order, to alert you when your order is on its way.
*Please remember that some items on our site are stored at our warehouse which may delay delivery or pickup by a day. We'll keep you updated on timing!
How does shipping work?
By arranging for transportation of your order, Leon & Son is providing a service and engaging a common carrier on your/the buyer's behalf. In utilizing this service from us, you recognize the responsibility for complying with local regulations or tax requirements rests solely with you, the buyer. If we are unable to handle shipments to your area, we apologize for any inconvenience and suggest that shipping be arranged to a direct-shipping friendly state. We currently do not ship to the following states: Alabama, Delaware, Maine, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, Rhode Island and Utah.
All packages must be accepted and signed by an adult at least 21 years of age. The buyer hereby agrees to take sole responsibility for complying with all laws regarding importation of alcohol into your state. Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from Leon & Son Wine to the buyer in the State of New York, which is why New York sales tax is charged on your order.
You, the buyer, are solely responsible for the shipment of alcohol and responsible for any loss or damage to goods once they have left our premises. By placing an order on this site, you authorize Leon & Son to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you and recognize that Leon & Son is not liable for the condition of your wines upon delivery.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.
How long does shipping take?
You will receive notifications from the carrier on the day your order is labeled with your tracking details, shipping date, and anticipated delivery date. Shipping orders may take up to 5-7 days, especially in light of recent carrier delays.
All “Ground Shipping” orders placed after 12pm on Wednesdays will be shipped the following week.
Can I return a bottle if I don’t like it?
NYS law only permits us to accept the return of goods that are defective; for such returns we can offer a replacement of the same item, refund a credit card, or we can issue a store credit. If you think your bottle is defective please bring it back to the store to be checked out and, if applicable, replaced, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please review your order confirmation email carefully to make sure you ordered the correct items and provided the correct shipping details. Leon & Son is not responsible for any incorrect orders placed by the buyer.
I placed an order accidentally. Can I cancel it?
Cancellation of any order must be done within 10 days of placing the order and prior to the shipment of the order. All cancellations are subject to a 10% restocking fee, unless there was an error on our behalf. A restocking fee is not a penalty, but protects the business from multiple charges on returned sales.. When your card is charged, your order is reserved for you. If you cancel your processed order, charges are applied to our merchant on both ends of the transaction. Therefore, we strictly enforce the policy of a restocking fee if your card has been successfully charged. If we have not charged your credit card, you may cancel your order without being subject to a restocking fee.
No order may be cancelled after 10 days of placing the order. And no order may be cancelled after it has shipped (the shipment is in the possession of the shipping carrier).
Any return of unopened and undamaged alcohol that was incorrectly sent to the customer (i.e., wrong item or vintage) must be done within 10 days of the date on your receipt. Should this happen, please email or call us to notify us that you are returning the shipment. We will issue an exchange or refund on returned products that were incorrectly shipped to you. We will not accept return of any alcohol that has been opened, harmed during transportation, or harmed due to extreme weather conditions.
Oops, I forgot to apply a discount code. Can I add it retroactively?
If you have forgotten to apply the "CASE15 " discount code to your order, our policy is to issue a refund for 10% of the subtotal of your order (spirits not included). This is because we are charged credit card processing fees on both sides of the transaction.
