The 2021er Karambolage (with L-Nr. 1-22 whereby the reference to the grapes is written on the left of the label) was an equal blend from young vines (planted in 2014) of Elbling (40% partially whole bunch-fermented for 10 days), Chardonnay (25%), and Pinot Noir (35% partially macerated). It was made along natural lines, i.e. without any intervention and was bottled unfiltered and with little SO2 added (20 mg/l). This delicately pink- colored wine offers a stunning nose made of herbs, fading roses, litchi, minerals, and smoky elements. The wine is gorgeously playful and subtly funky on the still quite tart palate but already offers a superbly playful and elegant feel of fresh fruits, minerals, and spices in the long and hugely persistent finish. The aftertaste is focused, intense, and plays on mineral and fruity elements. This great bone-dry wine is made for lovers of macerated Pinot Gris! Now-2028
