Where does what we smell come from in wine, and how do we talk about it?
Fermentation may unlock a lot of aromatics, but there's a special subset of grape varieties that smell wild even when you've only crushed the berries and tasted the juice, grapes that are undeniable in their heady perfume and scent of spring.
In [flower no. 2], we'll taste wines that flood out of the glass: baroque, rococo maximalists to contrast the minimalists we met in March's #grapestudy. We'll talk about aromas that come from fruit, not from winemaking.
We'll even discover that there's muscat in the world that isn't only not sweet, it's red.
Each class kit serves 1-5 drinkers and includes three bottles of wine, emailed food pairing and service suggestions, a custom playlist, and a link to an hour and 20 minute remote wine tasting with James Sligh of the CHILDREN'S ATLAS OF WINE.
