A Bottle We Love: Foradori's Lèzer
A BOTTLE WE LOVE:
Foradori's 'Lezèr'
Bright, fresh, *yummy* Teroldego & friends from the queen of the Dolomites 👑

WHAT'S IN THE BOTTLE:
Mostly biodynamic Teroldego (70%), with a mix of Schiava, Lagrein and Merlot blended in. It's from the Dolomites in Trentino-Alto Adige, the most iconic section of Italy's Southern Limestone Alps. And yes, if you're reading between the lines here that means impossibly fresh, mineral wines.
For Lezèr, there's a short maceration followed by aging in a mix of cement, steel, old wood and amphora; all with the goal of making a balanced but snappy and chillable red.
WHO MAKES IT:
Elisabetta Foradori, who since the 1990s has been the absolute reference for the Vigneti delle Dolomiti appellation and its Teroldego variety. Though born into the industry, she pushed forward a massive revolution of quality farming through the 2000s, becoming a benchmark for biodynamics in the region; and continues to make some of Italy's most terroir transparent wine.
Lezèr was born out of the difficult hail-ravaged 2017 vintage; but has become such a delicious means of experimentation for the estate, they continue to make it every year.
WHY WE DIG IT:
Turns out, we also mention this wine in our emails every year 😅 Honestly, it's not an early summer heat wave without it.
And, despite it's classification as bright-and-fresh, it retains the minerality and seriousness of the rest of Foradori's lineup. Dolomiti!!
HOW WE'RE DRINKING IT:
Straight from a (very cold) fridge. Ahhhh.
