2019 Hiyu Wine Farm 'Moon Dog', Columbia Gorge, USA
$160.00
‘Moon Dog' is a deeply personal wine. It’s inspired by the original vintage of Hiyu wines. The 2017 initial release included a Ramato cuvée that would eventually become the inspiration for ‘Aura,’ and the Pinot Noir ‘Arco Iris.’ The 2019 ‘Moon Dog’ is a single site co-ferment of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris.
The grapes are grown on sandy loam and basalt in “an amphitheater that captures the sun beside the pond, and a cool air rising from the river.” They’re whole bunch macerated and pressed off to barrel for fermentation and elevage.
