2022 Hiyu Wine Farm Tzum Feis Hood River County, USA
$92.00
Tzum wines come from small, specific fields, situated between the rainforest and the desert, throughout the Gorge. These parcels embody diverse terrains, vantage points, and climates.
‘Tzum Feis’ comes from a one acre parcel close to the Columbia River on a site in the desert east of Lyle, Washington (30 miles east of Hiyu). The soil here is predominantly black basalt and sand.
In 2016 the vines were grafted from Syrah to a field blend of clones from heirloom Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Negrette etc. - varietals common to Southwest France. The wine is aged in neutral barrels for roughly nine months.
