2020 Fumey-Chatelain Fertans Ploussard, Jura, France
$50.00
The 2020 Fertans Ploussard was destemmed with a destemmer (now they destem by hand to not crush the berries), and it's a nice example of Ploussard from Montigny, which are more serious than the ones from Pupillin. It comes from vines planted in 1953 on gray marl soils from Lias on a south-facing slope in the lieu-dit Fertans in Montigny-lès-Arsures. It has 12.5% alcohol and is fine-boned, with grip and a medium body and some rusticity in the shape of brick dust. Like the rest, it was aged in oak but shows no oak. 2,500 bottles produced. - Luis Gutierrez
