VINEYARD:Located directly across the dirt road from the winery, Chapelle des Bois is 1.8 hectares of vines ranging from 20-70 years of age. With a deeper topsoil than its south/southeast-facing neighbor Clos de la Grand'Cour, this vineyard faces north and slopes downward toward the village of Fleurie.
SOIL: Topsoil nearly a meter deep before hitting granite
VITICULTURE:No herbacides or pesticides, organically farmed, soils are worked, all fruit is hand-harvested.
VINIFICATION:Traditional vinification without sulfur and with natural yeast at very low temperatures. Semi-carbonic maceration and little or no filtering. Jean-Louis' motto in the cellar is minimal intervention and maximum surveillance.""
