2016 Arnot-Roberts Heinstein Vineyard Old Vine White Sonoma Valley, USA 1.5L Magnum
$145.00
A library wine direct from the winery, arrived in our warehouse October 2025.
This field-blend white comes off a historic, dry-farmed parcel one mile from the Sonoma town plaza—planted in 1954 on fluffy white volcanic ash at the base of Mount Veeder and long known as Heinstein (also Compagni-Portis; today “Farmer Family Vineyard”). The interplanted vines—Sylvaner, Riesling, Green Hungarian, and Gewürztraminer—are picked together for a true mixed-vineyard expression, yielding a wine that’s vibrantly aromatic yet firmly mineral. Arnot-Roberts whole-cluster presses, ferments with native yeast (stainless to start), and raises the wine in neutral French oak for about ten months, keeping alcohol modest and texture silk-fine. In magnum, the 2016 shows lifted white flowers, citrus oil, green stone fruit, and gentle spice over a brisk, soil-driven finish—an old-California original built to age gracefully.
