2022 Ryme Cellars Siletto Family Vineyards Frappato, Cienega Valley, USA

The Siletto Family Vineyards are located in the Cienaga Valley of San Benito county. The valley is split down the middle by the San Andreas fault and sits 30 miles east of the Monterrey Bay. The Siletto vineyards are a varied mix of exposures and elevations of mostly gravelly loam from weathered sandstone. The have planted an exciting mix of rare varieties here.
Megan and Ryan natively fermented the Frappato in two lots, one whole cluster in amphoraes and another destemmed in an open-top. The wines were then pressed separately and aged in neutral barrels for 6 months. The two lots were then racked together and aged an additional 3 months in a stainless steel tank. Rests 9 months in neutral oak and 3 months instainless steel tank.
The final wine is a translucent light red with soft juicy red fruits on the palate.
