2023 Comte Armand Clos des Epeneaux Monopole, Pommard Premier Cru, France
$250.00
Comte Armand ‘Clos des Épeneaux’ Monopole 2023 (Pommard 1er Cru)
This comes from a 5.24-hectare walled monopole spanning parcels in Grands and Petits Épenots (usual split is 20%/80%) with vine ages ranging from about 18 to over 80 years. Farming is certified organic (Ecocert) with biodynamic practices. Each plot is vinified separately; fruit is 100% destemmed and kept mostly as whole berries for a 5–8-day cold soak, followed by spontaneous fermentation over 5–10 days and a 3–15-day post-fermentation maceration, for roughly four weeks on skins.Élevage typically lasts 18–24 months with new oak capped around 30% for the oldest-vine lots, and the wines are usually bottled without fining or filtration. For 2023, cask samples were assembled from the separate lots with about 50% new oak and an overall yield near 34 hl/ha; in an average vintage the clos produces roughly 20–22.5k bottles.
Arrives September / October, 2025.
