2020 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy 1.5L Magnum
$875.00
This is the estate’s single Barolo, a traditional blend of Nebbiolo from Cannubi, San Lorenzo, Rué (Barolo) and Rocche dell’Annunziata (La Morra), co-fermented to express the whole territory rather than single crus. Fermentation takes place in old concrete vats with native yeasts, followed by an extended maceration under cappello sommerso; in 2020 the wine spent about fifty-five days on skins. Élevage is in large Slavonian oak botti for roughly thirty months, with bottling typically in late July and release after an additional year in bottle. Harvest in 2020 ran in early October, with San Lorenzo picked on October 2 and the remaining sites (including Cannubi and Rocche dell’Annunziata) between October 4–8.
Wine arrives September, 2025.
