2021 Far Mountain Myrna Chardonnay, Sonoma Valley, USA
$49.99
Myrna is built on dry-farmed, Old Wente Chardonnay from the western side of Bald Mountain in the Mayacamas at 1,800 feet, with a 16% lift from a rocky, cool-exposed site on Sonoma Mountain planted to Dijon selections. The fruit is whole-cluster pressed and fermented spontaneously in barrel; lees are stirred monthly until the partial malolactic finishes, and the wine ages 11 months in French oak (18% new; remainder 3–5 year barrels). It’s precise and mineral, carrying citrus and orchard-fruit intensity with a saline, chalky line and a long, focused finish. 13.5% ABV; harvest 8/31–9/13; pH 3.35.
