This is a grape variety that we think we know, like an old friend whose character we could describe by dint of being around it. And one day it calls out to us and invites us to meet up at a sunny vintage. The art then lies in responding to this invitation at the precise moment when the grapes offer the quintessence of the speech engraved in the stones, a prelude to the brilliance and vibrancy that will illuminate the wine.

The Pinot Gris Rosenberg 2022 also taught us patience, with the uncertain rhythm of its fermentation cycles. It started as usual, with a strong phase after the harvest, to then take a winter break which then allowed us to envisage bottling after the fall of 2023. That was without counting on its instinct for the awakening of nature and the arrival of fine days. Dozing in the half-light of the aging cellar, its activity has taken off again, to continue with resolute dynamism until the 2023 harvest.

After a year of fermentation, a period necessary for the wines of the 2022 vintage to assimilate and refine the abundant materials that characterize them, the Pinot Gris Rosenberg 2022 will finally be bottled in March 2024, thus enhancing the time it has been granted to express the terroir and a unique patina. The familiar aromatic profile illustrating the grape variety has given way to a beautiful maturity acquired over the days. True to its place of origin, the Pinot Gris Rosenberg 2022 has a solid anchoring, accentuated by melted tannins. It reveals itself generously in a register of aromas, smoky and roasted seeds and continues with a persevering tension on notes of bitterness evoking grapefruit. Refined and timeless, each molecule of this complex vintage is expressed with distinction and endurance. It spreads with a hint of saltiness that keeps the taste buds admirably alert.

The imprint that characterizes the Pinot Gris Rosenberg 2022 is clearly signed by the expression of its Terroir!
