2022 Domaine Les Grandes Vignes Pineau d'Aunis

100% Pineau d'Aunis hand-harvested from vines grown in clay-silt soil. The grapes under whole-cluster maceration over the course of two weeks before pressing into barrel where both alocoholic and malolactic fermentations spontaneously take place (ambient yeasts, no temp. control). After 3 months in barrel, the wine is once-racked and bottled shortly thereafter. Unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2.Ā
Since the XVII century, located in the village of Thouarce in Anjou, the Vaillant family has passed on farmland from generations to generations. For the lastĀ ten years, sister and brothers have cultivated the estate using the biodynamic principles. The goal is to express the personality of each wines.
ā55ha of vines ofĀ Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and Pineau dāAunis are planted. The diversity of their cuvees is due to the different type of soils and exposure found: schistĀ sandstone, quartz, gravel, and clay.Ā Ā Almost all of their wines are made with no addition of SO2, neither filtered or fined.
