Biodynamic. 100% Pinot Noir. From a special vineyard in Pommard called ‘Rue au Porc,’ with the Rougeot plot/monopole being surrounded by stone on three sides and a little stream on the other. A graceful, pretty version of this sometimes-stony village for Pinot. 45 year-old vines, .1 ha total. This is a sleeper wine at the domaine: beautiful red florals and deep red fruit, intense minerality, power without extraction. Fermentation is slow, with 90% whole cluster fruit, frequent pump overs and 1-2 punchdowns, before 18 month elevage in oak (25% new). The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered and without additional SO2.
