2023 G. B. Burlotto Dives Langhe Sauvignon, Piedmont, Italy
$45.00
Sourced from the estate’s oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines, planted in 1986 on marl and limestone soils in Verduno. Hand-harvested grapes undergo a brief skin maceration before fermentation with native yeasts in acacia wood barrels. The wine is aged on fine lees in acacia barrels until mid-summer, with malolactic fermentation prevented through cooling. The 2023 vintage presents a complex profile with notes of candied lemon, cedar, and a touch of asparagus. Medium-bodied with sharp acidity and a lavish finish, its one of the most unique whites (let alone Sauvignon's) made in the Langhe.
