Certified Biodynamic. 100% Grolleau from a tiny 0.33 ha parcel planted in the 1960s. The vineyard — Case Neuve — is split between just two parcels, and Batardière farms one of them. Yields here are low (25 hl/ha), and the soils are wild: a former riverbed sitting between the Britannic and Parisian continental plates, layered with clay, blue schist, quartz, and eroded schist.
Fermented semi-carbonic in stainless steel, with native yeasts and no additions. Raised in steel and bottled the September following harvest — unfined, unfiltered, with just 1ppm of sulfur at bottling.
