2023 Weingut Wasenhaus, Weissburgunder Mohlin , Baden, Germany
$125.00
A Pinot blanc grown on very steep slopes, a southeastern exposure and an old limestone terraced vineyard on the Olberg above the Mohlin creek, all worked manually by hand. The vines are planted in the 1950s with mainly Pinot blanc but you can find mixed in between some Chardonnay and Chasselas vines too. Bunches pressed as whole clusters, fermented in used French oak barrels and aged for one year on its full lees in barrel and another half year in stainless steel on its entire lees. 2023 vintage here has a fruit character of peach that imbues a freshness and acid core.
