2024 Grape Ink Floret Tualatin Hills, Oregon, USA
$33.99
Jarad on this red field blend: “A pure expression of the site, a celebration of the wine’s purity and site of origin. This expression celebrates a delicate touch and feeling towards the fruit we grew and what we picked during the 2nd pass in the vineyard.”
Grapes: Field blend of Pinot Noir, Trousseau and Mondeuse
Vineyard: “Floret” is a small 3-acre parcel at the winery’s home, Petalous Vineyards. AVA Tualatin Hills.
Making of (2024): All grapes are co-fermented and age together in netural vessels. Minimal intervention during fermentation, with no mechanical pump-overs; instead, juice is caught at the bottom of the tank and gently poured over the top by hand for 5 days. The wine ages in 500L neutral French oak puncheons for a full year. Bottled by hand unfined, unfiltered, with no sulfur added. Bottle-aged for six months at cellar temperature before release “at the first sight of daffodils” in February 2026.
Personality (from the winemaker): “The wine is light, bright, vibrant and full of life like its surroundings — which border apple trees, Italian plums, Douglas fir and wild flower fields. Floret is a wine that takes no effort to enjoy, its subtleties revealing themselves over time.”
