Marie Courtin, Efflorescence Extra Brut (2017) 1.5L, Champagne, France
$230.00
Marie Courtin's Efflorescence is a pure expression of Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar, sourced from a single parcel in Polisot. The vines, aged 35–40 years and selected through massale propagation, grow at the base of a hillside where clay-rich soils intermingle with bands of Kimmeridgian limestone—geology more akin to Chablis than to Épernay.
Farmed biodynamically and harvested by hand, the grapes undergo fermentation in used barriques with native yeasts for both primary and secondary fermentations. The wine then ages sur lie for three years before being bottled with zero dosage, resulting in a Champagne of depth, precision, and energy.
