1999 Dominus Estate Christian Moueix, Napa Valley, USA
$200.00
A cool, late-harvest vintage that plays directly into Dominus’ Bordeaux-informed architecture. Sourced from the Napanook Vineyard’s gravelly, alluvial soils, the 1999 is Cabernet-dominant, fermented with meticulous temperature control and aged in largely used French oak to spotlight site over wood. Now fully in its prime, it shows dark currant and plum, olive tapenade, graphite, dried tobacco, and the savory herb/mineral thread that defines classic Dominus. Tannins are firm but beautifully resolved, acidity still energetic, and the finish long, earthy, and quietly powerful. A vintage that underscores the estate’s restraint, longevity, and Old World precision.

Why We ♡ Cab
Cabernet Sauvignon. Some see it as the most important grape, others the most overplanted.
In my opinion, it’s one of the most serious varietals when made right.
