2012 Giuseppe Rinaldi Dolcetto d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy
$110.00
This is the deep, structured Dolcetto from Giuseppe Rinaldi—a rare red made in classical Piedmontese form. Fermented entirely with native yeasts and left on skins for around two weeks, it was aged for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels before bottling with no filtration and minimal sulfur selection.
Featuring the haunting signature of Rinaldi’s estate vineyards—once tied to Brunate, Cannubi-San Lorenzo, and Ravera—the 2012 vintage delivers bold tannins alongside dark cherry, blackberry, licorice, and a defining almond bitterness that is inherited from the Dolcetto grape itself. It balances serious structure with savory freshness, and though Dolcetto is often framed as youthful, this is built to last
