2022 Max Kilburg Ohligsberg Pinot Noir, Mosel, Germany
$54.00
The Ohligsberg Pinot Noir 2022, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made from destemmed fruit picked on vines planted in 1987 and 2013 in the Brauert sector and was fermented in oak and matured in used barriques for 18 months before being bottled unfiltered. It offers a huge nose of cherry puree, red currant, blueberry, herbs, and fine spices. The wine proves smooth, fruit-driven, and subtly silky-creamy on the palate at first before some tart elements add cut and precision to the experience. The finish is quite suave but also nicely layered and complex. The aftertaste is all succulent confectionary red berry fruits. This is superb expression of fruit-driven layered Mosel Pinot Noir.
This wine arrives the last week of July, 2025.
