From the limestone-dominant Talfels parcel in Westhofen—adjacent to Morstein and sharing its high active-lime profile—Keller vinifies this Chardonnay with the same precision applied to his GG Rieslings. Whole-cluster pressed, fermented with native yeasts, and raised in neutral barrels, the 2023 is all tension and mineral architecture: citrus oil, white peach, faint smoke, and a pure chalk-dust line that feels unmistakably Keller. The palate is sleek, tightly coiled, and phenolically refined, finishing long, saline, and almost Burgundian in structure. A razor-edged, site-transparent Chardonnay from one of Germany’s most exacting estates.
