2016 Weingut Moric 'Reserve' Blaufrankisch, Burgenland, Austria
$56.00
Even in this very ripe and imposing vintage, the Moric Reserve doesn't belabor the wine with alcohol, and it's hard to imagine such vibrant acidity and eloquently expressive tannins coming from any other address in Burgenland. Cherry, sour cherry and blackberry aromas predominate in the nose and travel seamlessly onto the palate. There are no cosmetics here; not the least flavoring of new wood. Minerality is very present in the long and rather elegant finish.
