2018 Mauro Veglio Paiagallo, Barolo DOCG, Italy
$95.00
A site made famous by cult porducer Canonica. This vineyard is in the heart of the Barolo village and commune, sitting at the western end of the Cannubi ridge. The soil and altitude are similar to Arborina but the tannins are more prominent. There’s a heady, iodine note, with a texture of cream rather than red fruit. It has a wonderful sensual finish of bitter orange and dried oregano.
