The Lindenlaub wines smack of so much vivacity they might have you believe the domaine is fresh on the scene. Yet their roots speak to a long lineage of Alsatian farming, spanning all the way back to 1759 (it wasn’t until 1986 that the family decided to stop raising livestock such as cows). In the 70s, Christophe’s father Jacques decided to start bottling at the estate. Christophe officially arrived in 1999 to take account of things and decide on a direction for the domaine with his father. Finally, in 2009, they concluded that organic was the way to go, becoming certified in 2012.
Winemaking the Lindenlaub way is about pursuing “osmosis” with nature, with a healthy dose of vim and vigor. This 100% Riesling masquerades as a smoky Chenin. A completely glou glou Alsatian white that walks a tightrope of tension and balance, complexity and precision. Racy and aromatic all in one.
