2020 Weingut Schatzel Pettenthal Riesling Grosses Gewachs Rheinhessen, Germany
$285.00
Terroir: The Große Lage Pettenthal is one of the most dramatic vineyards on the hill of Roter Hang. Southeast-facing on a very steep slope, with red slate.
Viticulture: Certified organic, biodynamic practices, regenerative. Because of the steepness of the slope, all vineyard work is manual.
Vinification: Grapes are foot-crushed and macerated for about 3 days. Pressed for 12 or more hours. Ambient yeast fermentation. Laissez-faire malolactic conversion. Aged for 35 months on the lees in barrels under flor. No fining, no filtration. Bottled without added SO2.
