2014 Bereche et Fils 'UNE', Champagne, France
$800.00
With this wine, Raphaël is establishing an alternative path for the future generations who will eventually take over from him and his brother Vincent. Their children can choose to continue making many wines reflecting a “single wine, single terroir” philosophy, or follow the traditional route of Champagne’s greatest houses, crafting one fantastic wine that blends the best sites. The first release of UNE is a blend of the finest barrels from Beaux Regards, Le Cran, Avize, Cramant, Ambonnay, Mailly, and Aÿ. The wine was aged for seven years on the lees and an additional two years sur pointe, finally being disgorged in November 2022.
"The second is the debut of the Bérêche “ultra” cuvée, UNE 2014. The wine was aged for seven years on the lees and an additional two years sur pointe, finally being disgorged in November 2022. The resulting wine is magnificent—complex, heady, exotic, yet mineral, and impossibly long. It was a fantastic way to conclude the trip!" - Fleet St
