2018 Weingut Wasenhaus Spatburgunder Baden, Germany
$70.00
Christoph Wolber and Alexander Götze source this Pinot Noir from volcanic and loess soils in the Kaiserstuhl and Breisgau, farmed with low-input methods and picked by hand. Fermentation is spontaneous with a significant portion of whole clusters and gentle pump overs to keep extraction fine. Élevage is in older barriques and demi-muids on the lees with minimal sulfur and no fining or filtration. The 2018 shows ripe red cherry and wild strawberry with rose, subtle spice, and a cool, stony finish.
This wine is offered from a private cellar, Terms and Conditions for Private Cellars apply.
