Charles Dufour (Francoise Martinot) 'Bistrotage' Extra Brut b17, Champagne, France
$110.00
Dufour is a young grower, farming 6 certified organic hectares in Landreville within the Côtes des Bars and the Aube. Coming from a family steeped in the winemaking traditions of this off the beaten track of a Champagne region, some of the vines were planted by his grandfather and are quite old. Charles favors working with natural yeasts for the fermentations of his wines and the wines are free of added sulphur.
Champagne Françoise Martinot is a label under Charles’ mother, Françoise Martinot. She harvests her own vineyards in Landreville, and Charles helps to make the Champagne. It's a Blanc de Noirs, all Pinot Noir harvested from vineyards on a clayey-calcareous terroir located in the Vallée de l'Arce (Côte des Bar). Fermented in both steel and wooden w/ extended ageing on its own for 7 years.
