This benchmark vineyard is widely regarded as Burgundy’s top Premier Cru and often considered "Grand Cru in all but name". From ~0.9 ha of southeast‑facing vines—mostly over 50 years old—planted in marl–limestone soils that encourage deep root systems and ideal ripening.

The vineyard is hand‑harvested and vinified with indigenous yeasts, typically including partial whole‑cluster to emphasize structure. Fermentation takes place in open-top vats with gentle extraction techniques. Elevage is carried out in used oak barrels (virtually no new oak), aged for roughly 16 months before bottling unfined and unfiltered.
