2017 Bodega Les Cousins Marc & Adria La Sagesse, Priorat DOCa, Spain
$24.99
From rugged old-vine parcels in the village of Porrera (Priorat), this 2017 is a thoughtful blend of ~55% Carignan (Cariñena) and ~45% Grenache Tinta, harvested by hand from vine-stocks planted on steep terraces of llicorella (slate & schist) soils at very low yields (~5-6 t/ha).
Fermentation begins with native yeasts in stainless-steel vats after full destemming, followed by a short maceration of 6–10 days, then a gradual press-off of gently extracted wine. The élevage runs approximately 16 months in French oak barrels (a mix of used and new) before bottling
