A Pinot noir from Kaiserstuhl, grown on volcanic soil, one vineyard in quite high altitude in the town of Eichstetten and one vineyard in Jechtingen. Due to the clones and rather young age of the vines the fruit got almost entirely de-stemmed (10% whole cluster) and fermented in an open top fermenter for 18 days. Aging during 14 months in mainly used barrels. Sultry, fine, emphatic nose of saffron, rose. - vom Boden
