The 2025er Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling Spätlese was made from slightly botrytized fruit harvested on largely un-grafted vines still trained on single pole and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar. It delivers a gorgeous and superbly complex and attractive nose of whipped almond cream, vineyard peach, violet, lavender, honeyed yellow peach, William pear, and fine spices. The wine coats the palate with intense, clear, and ripe yellow fruits as well as creamy elements. This slightly broader side is, however, well-wrapped in candied citrusy and ripe acidity, which gives a light smooth and elegant finish. The aftertaste already reveals more freshness and acidity. This Auslese in all-but-name is hugely impressive. 2035-2075 - MFW
