2020 Maloof 'Thistle Vineyard' Pinot Gris, Dundee Hills, USA
$24.99
“There was a change of ownership of the vineyard this year, and the official vineyard name changed to “Haaken Lenai Vineyard.” To carry on the name of the place that was the first vineyard contract for us back in 2016, we continue to refer to our blocks of Pinot Gris as Thistle, and have renamed this cuvée ‘Thistle’ Pinot Gris. Maloof wines continues to control the only two blocks of Pinot Gris on the site.”
“Pinot Gris? Woah. Clear cut citrus flavors of lime pith supported by a custardy mouth feel and Jurançon Sec-esque aromatics. A fun and invigorating white with nervy acids that will make you want to set up a slip n slide in your front yard post-haste. Fermented in neutral oak barrels and sur lie aged with no batonnage for 9 months.”
“Serve chilled with summertime seafood dishes or white za. Better yet, serve chilled with white za that has seafood on it.” — Ross + Bee Maloof, Maloof Wines
