Gaispfad is located on the slope between the villages of Traben-Trarbach and Enkirch, featuring ungrafted vines up to and beyond 80 years old. The vineyard is 100% Einzelstück trained and has soils of grey-blue slate with veins of iron oxide. Thus, the wines from this parcel show a touch more density from water retention. The 2020 is superb, delicate as is common from the vintage and Wei-Kü, but with a seriously dense mid palate and still as light as a dagger. - VB
