A wine rooted in Napa history. The Detert family’s Oakville vineyard, first planted to Cabernet Franc in 1949, represents the earliest known Franc planting in the valley. In 1979, they replanted using cuttings from those original vines—preserving a lineage now synonymous with the site itself. This bottling comes from that heritage planting: 100% Cabernet Franc, Detert clone.

The vineyard lies on alluvial Coombs gravelly loam—deep, well-drained soils that yield Franc with both finesse and structure. Fruit is hand-harvested and fermented in small stainless tanks, with a combination of pumpovers and punchdowns over 14 days. The wine is aged for 20 months in French oak (60% new).
