2023 Hiyu Wine Farm Tzum Oak Ridge Spring Ephemeral Columbia Gorge, USA
$98.00
Vineyard: 0.2-hectare parcel at Oak Ridge Vineyard, planted in 2019: “The parcel is mid-slope, just above a grove of walnuts, on this site situated above the White Salmon river in the foothills of Mt. Adams.”
2023:
Making of: Direct pressed. Most of the juice is released by foot during over several hours by foot-crushing in a small vertical press. Juice is transferred by hand (and bucket) into two small barrels, aged for just over a year in old wood on the lees without racking, and bottled by hand.
Personality: “A very transparent, delicate, and fluid embrace of the variety. Like many of our wines, the winemaking is starkly traditional and is meant to give a glimpse into what Chardonnay tastes like without all the modern bells and whistles currently employed elsewhere.”
