Germany's '24s might be wildly slim in quantity, but the end products are made from the featherweight materials Riesling lovers dream of.

Like the iconic 2021, it was a cooler vintage overall; but that laser sharp streak of acidity we saw 3 years ago is replaced here by an airy weightlessness. These are some of the most delicate Rieslings we've enjoyed, with even trocken bottlings dipping below 11% ABV. But for some growers, it also meant losses greater than they've seen in decades, with frosts destroying up to 85% of fruit on the extreme end. We're lucky to see these wines land stateside.

LAUER

Few people have keyed into what their sites (or, in this case, tiny parcels) are capable of producing quite like Florian Lauer. He makes a dizzying array of wines that carve up his sites on the Grand Kupp, from eye-opening dry styles to jasmine-tinged off-dry. All impossible to put down.

KILBURG

We have the arrival of Kabinetts from Piesport talent Max Kilburg. Amidst the reduced quantities from '24, there is a new cuvée: an Alte Reben bottling from Ohligsberg. From a 700 square meter plot whose vines are over 100 years old (planted in 1921). These wines arrive Wednesday.

ULLI STEIN

Ulli's arrivals include his best known terroirs and bottlings (sadly, '1900' sold out immediately). One addition is the Kabinett Trocken from Klosterkammer, a site we know for sparkling but never for a still wine. Frost destroyed 75% of the harvest for this site and, as importer vom Boden put it, "the small amount remaining was perfectly ripe, just a touch above Kabinett ripeness level and he couldn't resist."

FALKENSTEIN

The Saar was hit hard last year, but what’s missing in yields is more than made up for by Falkenstein's intricate, airy wines. These special wines land Wednesday; longtime fans will notice Kabinett bottlings from some of the APs which are typically bottled as Spätlese (including the mags).

Biodynamic since 1978, Rita and Rudolf Trossen keep pushing boundaries, incorporating a no-sulfur approach 15 years ago. These are some of the most distinct natural wines in all of Germany, delivering a powerful take on Riesling despite their low intervention approach.

CLEMENS BUSCH

Clemens Busch is one of our favorite personalities (he has surprised us on multiple occasions at the store). A referential farmer, he's biodynamically farming his steep and sizable Marienburg vineyard without compromise. It's the backbone behind his phenolic wines, the first drop of which just arrived: focused on the village level wines (dry and bottled by the type of slate), his absolute sleeper of a Kabinett, and entrytrocken (which is one of the great values in wine).
