A Bottle We Love:
Johan Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir
WHAT'S IN THE BOTTLE

100% Demeter-certified biodynamic Pinot Noir, grown right along the Willamette Valley's Van Duzer Corridor. This gap in the Coast Range perfectly sweeps a cooling ocean breeze inland, for a long, even growing season and balanced ripening of sugars and acids.

It's made by the talented hands of Morgan Beck at Johan Vineyards – a site which might just sound familiar as a solid (and coveted) source for several producers in the valley. The 'Estate' bottling is a selection from all of their vineyards, fermented with 28% whole clusters and aged 11 months in (mostly used) French oak.

WHY WE DIG IT

A group favorite at our Washington & Oregon AVA class a couple weeks ago, it's a beautiful representation of true Willamette Pinot. Just jumps out of the glass with bright pomegranate fruit and lacy spice; and in a world where whole cluster inclusion can lazily overpower a wine, the amount here is perfectly dialed in.

HOW WE'RE DRINKING IT

Don’t you just want to take a picnic under that tree on that label? But seriously, this is a beautifully flexible bottle to stock up on now and drink for the rest of 2025, from summer picnic to turkey day potluck.
