Rougeot's most personal cuvées
We haven’t been shy about our excitement around Pierre-Henri Rougeot’s work.
He’s put in hard work to elevate his family domaine and, as we get into below, his small personal project makes some of the finest new wines coming out of Burgundy.
[For a more complete back story, check out last year's profile here!]
At its core, Pierre Henri’s project is accessing family vines – which are biodynamic – to build his lineup. But, he’s able to use his professional network to access organic fruit from other growers with different terroirs. A couple of which are Grand Cru holdings; and distinguished friends like Antoine Leinhardt and the Boisson family are some of the sources that find their way into his wines.
Being able to access fruit from different areas, he’s able to show his truly deft hand in making transparent, terroir driven wines.
More tech is below, but the wines across the board are made similarly. The whites are whole cluster pressed with the juice allowed to brown before being barreled down with their gross lees. Reds are all whole cluster, with fermentation and élevage all in wood. New oak is used sparingly but purposefully, and sulfur only at bottling.

Psst...just a few bottles left of his last vintage of PTG, which is truly one of our favorite values in wine. Silky, complex but not pretentious, flexes in every direction at a holiday table.
