2019 Podere Le Ripi 'Lupi e Sirene' Riserva, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Italy
$150.00
This single-vineyard Riserva comes from the eastern slope at Castelnuovo dell’Abate, on brown marl, slightly alkaline soils with a granitic skeleton that lend the wine its ferrous, mineral edge. Grapes are hand-harvested in early September and fermented with native yeasts 20–25 days in open oak casks, with daily pump overs for roughly 80% of the ferment before finishing Piedmont-style (infusion). Élevage is 36 months in large oak, followed by at least 14 months in concrete
