2022 Sylvie Augereau Anjou Blanc 'Pulpes', Loire, France
$42.00
A low-intervention Chenin from biodynamic parcels in Anjou’s schist-heavy terroirs, Pulpes is pressed gently and fermented with native yeasts before aging in older vessels to keep the texture pure and unforced. The 2022 shows Chenin in its most electric register: citrus oil, quince, and white peach overlaying a smoky-slate mineral line inherent to Anjou’s dark schists. Lees lift adds quiet depth without rounding edges. Taut, saline, and texturally fine—an expressive, high-energy Chenin that captures Augereau’s intuitive, vineyard-first approach.
