2018 Julien Pineau Sauvignon Blanc Substance, Loire, France
$36.99
This wine is produced within the Touraine appellation but intentionally declassified to Vin de France. From the oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines in Clos Roche Blanche, planted in 1954 and very low yielding (10hl/ha). The name and label of this wine is an homage to the 1987 New Order album Substance. The fruit is pressed directly and fermented in vat followed by 18 months of elevage in bariques. No SO2.
