2019 Il Vinco Capannacce Rosso (Grechetto Rosso)
Le Capannacce is 100% Grechetto Rosso, a local version of Sangiovese from Lago di Bolsena that comes from a family vineyard of Marco Fucini, one of the partners. In addition to Marco's vineyards, the partners planted Grechetto Rosso in the the new vineyards planted around the new winery - this should be included in next year's bottling. For the vintage 2018, production is very limited.
Le Capannacce is more straightforward than Il Canajo, in line with the characteristics of Sangiovese, with more pronounced tannin and acidity but still featuring the soft fruit and earthiness typical of the estate. The 2019 was fermented in both cement and steel, with maceration of about 10 days and without filtration and without sulfites.
The name Le Capannacce is the name of the parcel of land near their cellar.
