2019 Rene Barbier-Sara Perez Gratallops Partida Bellvisos Blanco, Priorat DOCa, Spain
$64.00
The serious white 2019 Gratallops Partida Bellvisos Blanc was produced with a blend of Garnacha Blanca, Trepat Blanco and Viura (Macabeo) from 65-year-old certified-organic vines on llicorella slate soils surrounded by a Mediterranean forest. It fermented in 380-liter amphorae with some stems and skins that macerated for a month. After being pressed, it was transferred to one demi-muid, a 600-liter Austrian oak casks of thick staves, where it continued fermenting for nine months. It has natural concentration, as they are using less skins and more direct pressing, especially for the Garnacha Blanca. It has the Garnacha character of waxy apples and pollen, a white of power and concentration, fresher than in previous years and with less tannin, very supple flavors and a salty touch. 800 bottles produced.
