Chambertin is considered one of the five best grands crus of Burgundy. Its central position on a slightly steep and slightly cool and windy hillside gives it an inimitable texture. It faces due east. This deep bedrock is finely covered with limestone scree and silt which have been deposited over millennia and mixed by centuries-old human cultivation.
