This is a classic vintage and will be the inaugural vintage of Brunello from the domaine. If I were a collector this is the vintage I'd want in my cellar- both the brunello and the IGT are triumphs. The Brunello fruit comes from what he calls the "Vigna del Bosco" which contains a sandy well-draining soil, encircled by the forest. The vines are accessible only by a narrow path through the woods from his IGT vines (the Vigna Vecchia"). The tannins on here are softer, more round and silky. It is a big mouthful of wine, but will be immediately enjoyable to a very wide range of palates. A classic Sangiovese charmer.
